TV Whitespace (TVWS) Long Haul Carrier Wireless

ICC Networking is focused on connectivity and content delivery to every device in the world. Accomplishing that objective requires technology to reach further than it ever has and utilize capabilities, like TV Whitespace, seldom seen as part of our traditional wireless environments. ICCN, together with our sister company, Metric Systems Corporation (MSC), deliver a unique wireless LAN and wireless broadband solution that drive in-building optimization and performance with long distance, non-line of sight (NLOS) broadband capabilities.

ICCN and MSC use collaborative and patented technologies to address client needs for a unique and complete Wireless LAN and Broadband solution.

What is TV Whitespace (TVWS)?

TV whitespace is unused parts of the RF spectrum previously allocated for analog television. These included sections between channels typically used to prevent channel interference.

What is the advantage of TVWS?

  • Operation in the VHF and UHF bands, provides:
  • Up to 5 times the range, coverage and penetration for urban and in particular rural settings compared to Wi-Fi or Wi-Max
  • Superior RF reach and coverage in non-line of sight (NLOS) environments
  • Spectrum Agility and OFDM waveform capability increases throughput and avoids on-air interference
  • Scalable payload capacity to respond to coverage and capacity demands
  • RaptorXR’s patented Spectrum Management Engine, authorized FCC Database vendors, to assure continuous link reliability

What’s the value of TVWS?

TVWS is free for anyone to use and build their own network. Given the appealing characteristics of TVWS, there are a number of applications for delivering wireless connectivity across campuses, cities, and connecting Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) devices.

Network Advantage

RaptorXR’s embedded network engine enables deployment of any network architecture ranging from system critical single-link multi-point networks to multi-link and ad-hoc peer-to-peer mesh systems. Multi-channel bonding and user-defined redundancy schemes maintain network QoS and reliability. Additional capabilities include channel and link bonding to enhance throughput and reliability. RaptorXR’s proprietary time-division multiple access technology enables SCADA and data monitoring and control systems to tailor RaptorXR’s performance to their particular needs.
